If you’re anything like me then you probably do not have much interest in video games. In fact, I hate video games. I think of them as a total waste of time. So then why am I writing about this video game? Because in my view Beatles Rock Band (and to a lesser extent the other Rock Band games) is not just a video game, it’s a truly interactive musical learning tool.

I’m not really talking about the guitar and bass guitar bit. I actually think that part of the game is lame because it has next to nothing to do with playing a real guitar and little to do with the music. It has nothing to do with guitar because playing real 6 string is about one hundred times harder than simply pressing a few buttons and it has very little to do with the music because I have noticed that the changes in the game rarely change at the same time as any chord changes in the song.

So continuing the list of the apparent boys toys that are video games that you have to have on your Xbox 360 this side of Christmas.

Dragon Age Origins

This game came out and not too many people were aware of it because they just didnt know enough about it. There has not been enough press around this game. The game itself is made by Bioware who are of course the people behind Mass Effect. This is their brand new game and they have spent a very long time actually thinking out this idea. Although the game is likely to take you around 150 hours to complete it has to be said that the graphics are not up to the standards that should be expected of a next generation game. A good game though.
