There are two main categories of animals in farmville: Livestock which can be bought at the Market for coins or Farmville cash, and Lost Animals which will show up on your farm from time to time. One wonderful thing about animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones. Animals will just wait for you to log in again and harvest it. They are relatively easy to manage. Therefore it is a low-stress way of making money.
Livestock
Currently the livestock which you can obtain at the Market are pretty limited. At present there are dairy cows, pigs, and white (regular) sheep. Pigs, dairy cows and the regular white sheep are the only animals which can be acquired at the Market. Sometimes new animals come out for a selected time. During the “Alien Invasion”, green cows titled BOV1NE-09 (now named Alien Cow) showed up in the Market for 2400 coins. “Milktonium,” a crop that can be harvested from green cows can be sold for 18 coins. American Thanksgiving brought the “Baby Turkey”–when harvested for the initial time, it will convert into a grown, adult Turkey. The adult Turkey can then be harvested for feathers once every 2 days at 80 coins a harvest. You can accept additional interesting livestock as free gifts from your friends, although the old standbys are offered there too.
You can see that the animals do not have the same harvest times. You can harvest a number of animals every day whilst other animals require two, three or as many as 4 days.
Lost Animals
Status updates of your friends may display that they have found a lost animal on Farmville . Every so often, lost animals will show up on your farm and ask for your help. An example would be the Wild Turkey, which was introduced as a new “lost animal” by the makers of Farmville during the American Thanksgiving holiday.
The following caption will be seen upon the appearance of the Wild Turkey on your farm:
(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..
The other “lost animals” in Farmville are:
*Ugly Duckling (transforms into a swan)
*Brown Cow (gives chocolate milk)
*Pink Cow (produces strawberry milk )
*Black Cat (gives yarn)
*Turtle (makes eggs)
*Black Sheep (produces chocolate wool)
*Regular cows also wander but they are obtainable through the Market and as free gifts
the lost animals cannot be adopted by you. What you can do is put them up for adoption. If you have another account in Facebook, this is the ideal time to log into it!
Put your the lost animal up for adoption, then log out. Log in on your other account and quickly get the lost animal before someone else does! So keep in mind what I said before, frequently look at your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animals.
If you’re acquiring a large number of cows and/or chickens, consider purchasing a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop.
These buildings offer a convenient means to store the animals, as well as harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop can accommodate 20 cows or chickens.
Chicken Coops also provide you the possibility of acquiring Mystery Eggs.. Read Farmville Buildings to learn more.
